Discover suffix private number plates
Suffix number plates are a classic UK registration format, typically featuring three letters, one to three numbers and an age-identifying letter at the end. The format can be particularly useful if the first three letters match meaningful initials or a short name.
How do suffix registrations work?
The final letter indicates the age period of the registration. Suffix-style plates were issued for new vehicle registrations from 1963 to 1983. As with other age-related registrations, the plate cannot be used to make a vehicle appear newer than it is.
How to choose a suffix plate
Consider the initial letters, the number sequence and how the entire registration reads. Check available stock and prices, then confirm the vehicle's eligibility and any transfer charges before proceeding.
